Good responsive skin for MediaWiki 1.24? [on hold]

All I was looking for is a nice responsive design that would make MediaWiki look nice and functional "out of the box". While I imagined installing nice stable skins on MediaWiki should be straight forward, I unfortunately find out this isn't the case. Many of the skins presented on http://ift.tt/1vDtZP9 and even the "stable" ones on http://ift.tt/1vDu05n seem to be somewhat broken. Am I missing some nice resource where skins can be added without the hassles of fixing some partially ready product?

Here are some of the skins I tried and problems arising from their use:

  • vector - the default looks horrible on a narrow mobile phone display. The other skins that are bundled by default suffer from the same problems + an uglier deisgn MonoBook Modern CologneBlue

  • bootstrapskin - the search box's "go" is under the search box

  • bootstrapskinmini - most top links are back to their own website, really?!?!

  • Refreshed - no images, looks broken
